Arun Kirupananthan
Open Source Community Manager

Arun Kirupananthan is the Open Source Community Manager at Microsoft Canada. He likens himself to an Open Source bounty hunter, seeking projects across Canada to submit to the Web Platform installer.

Graduating from Wilfrid Laurier University set Arun on a path to experience job in completely different industries to see what sector fits his interests the most. Arun realized his greatest joys are in forging relationships between startups/marketing entrepreneurs and exploring opportunities for mutual growth. Arun put his faith in his more entrepreneurial spirit: he joined Microsoft to engage grassroots communities and connect with OSS pioneers of the development world.

Arun enjoys travelling the world off the beaten path, exploring different cultures and traditions from Europe to Asia. In his spare time he works on a web comedy based on deal hunting.

Today, he applies his passion for startups and the web by championing OSS projects interoperability with Windows. At this very moment, he is organizing national competitions and DemoCamps to encourage OSS development across platforms.
