About Nik

is the Open Source Strategy Lead at Microsoft Canada. Nik joined Microsoft Canada in 2007 to build relationships with the local Open Source developer communities and since then has spearheaded a number of innovative projects including Gov 2.0, Open Data, Open Source at Microsoft and PHP on Windows. Microsoft's goal is to provide an integrated platform to enable a seamless experience across a wide range of computing and non-PC devices and services which is the vision that Nik helps to bring to life through his leadership role on Windows platform strategy and as a local representative of the Microsoft Open Source Technology Centre (OSTC). Prior to joining Microsoft, Nik was a freelance web developer and IT consultant with major universities in Philadelphia, PA before joining UNISYS Corp, Blue Bell, PA as a Program Manager in 2002 where he was responsible for launching Open Source-based solutions.
